Mr See looked great wih his shirt tucked out (very pai gia looking!). pity he cannot tuck out in school! we saw Mr Tan tuck out his shirt for the first time today, too (the one our class bought). he was too thin and we all prefered him with his shirt tucked in. he disappeared soon after he showed us his shirt, though. ):

wanted to go around telling our subject teachers happy teachers' day, but could not find any of them. boo so sad... we went from the 4th level to the 1st, and saw only Mr Soon, Miss Kee, Mrs Chong and some others we did not know. it was so disappointing...

didn't go back primary school this year... oh, well, i walked past it! lol... but don't know why... had no mood ba... and didn't see the point anyway... but i hope the rest who went back have a good time!

one week vacation, and i am going to make full use of it (oh, yeah, right, like i am really going to carry out all my plans...) i am going to pia my cello every day! there are tons of homework to do also. crap. stress, stress and stress. on top of that, we are supposed to complete our CmPS project by tuesday after school reopens (i think!) oh wow we are soooo dead... help!!!

hahas go do posters for CmPS lerr...

fps

hi everyone who reads my blog posts (except for people from my own group that is!): my group and i are currently doing a Community Problem Solving project in school. our group name is called the Myopia Fighters, and i think you might have guessed from our name, we are trying to help the poor myopic children in the world. we have liaised with an organization called WorldVision, who sends donated spectacles overseas to various countries for the poor myopic children who cannot afford to buy their own spectacles.

our eyes are our windows to the world. imagine if you do not have your spectacles now. the world will be faint and blur, and you will not be able to appreciate the beauty of the many things in the world. you will not be able to do many things comfortably, like play computer games, read (as you are doing now) and many other things like sports. you will not be able to see obstacles, and thus not be able to walk confidently. you will not be able to see far, nor read small print. for people who play music (like me), you will not be able to enjoy playing music or to even play it, as you will have to strain your eyes to read the scores or you might not be able even to read it. you will no longer be able to enjoy the fun and satisfaction of playing music for people to enjoy. for people who do not play music but sing, you will have to strain your eyes to read the lyrics, which will spoil the fun and enjoyment of singing along to your favourite songs and singers. you might not even be able to read the lyrics and will not be able to sing along. you will have difficulty sms-ing your friends and reading their smses. you will be trapped in your own lack of sight. it is a very scary thing.

therefore we hope that you will empathise with those poor children who are unable to enjoy life as we do due to lack of clear vision. help them find a clearer, brighter world. eyesight is one of our most valuable assets. we hope for your kindly donations, to my secondary schoolmates, after our (grimace) morning assembly announcement, for my primary schoolmates and other friends, please contact me at 97348696(hp no) before mid-September. we are aiming for at least 150 spectacles. if you have any old spectacles please donate them to us. thank you very very much.

Remember, some tips on how to take care of your eyesight (not in order of importance):
1) Avoid exposing your eyes to the harmful ultra violet rays of the sun. Protect your eyes from the sun’s rays as much as you can.
2) Drink as much water as you can.
3) Your eyes need vitamins, nutrients and minerals in order to work well and stay strong, like every other part of your body. Eat vegetables such as carrots, celery, tomatoes, spinach, green beans, corn, lettuce, peas, squash and chili peppers. Eat fruits such as apricots, lemons, kiwis, blueberries and bilberries.
4) Blink your eyes for three to four times whenever you feel tired, this eye exercise will relax you.
5) Never rub your eyes when dust or other harmful particles enter your eyes; just blink your eyes several times.
6) Close your eyes and breathe in and circularly move your eyes clockwise and anti-clockwise, alternatively. Repeat it for four to five times. It will relax your eyes.
7) Rub your palms till they get warm, then cover your closed eyes with your warm palm gently. It relaxes your tired eyes. Repeat this eye exercise three to four times.
8) Take small breaks while working on computer. Look at distant entity and get back to your work, this will relax your eyes and increase your concentration for work.
9) Lower your spectacles down on your nose for at least ten minutes every time you go outside so that your eyes can absorb some vitamin D it needs from the sunshine.
10) When you feel tired, keep rounded pieces of raw cucumber or potatoes on closed eyes for 10 minutes. You will feel fresh and stress-free.

cello exam!!!

wah soooo scared... haiz.... received the letter yesterday... i am taking cello exam grade 5 this year, and the letter stating exam time and date arrived yesterday... it's on 10th September, Monday, 1400hours. wah i can cheerfully admit that i have never been that scared of any exam before!!! wonder if the examiner is kind? if he/she tests me on 8scales i will die!!! n pray the sight-reading piece is easy... pray....

carnival!!!

wow 8th August's carnival. it was very fun, man! although it was quite hectic, and it was very dificult to get from one booth to the other, but yuppx, all in all, it was very fun! i wish the police had not been there, though. spoilt the mood quite a bit.

Kai Sing and Jazz and Chang Jing, my primary school fellow CO members (Secondary Ones now) were there, though i have no idea how they came to know of the carnival. i was pleased that they came, though. it was nice to see familiar faces. the nicer part was when my MOE Camp 2007 fellow cellist, Chris, cello senior, Shi Ling, erhu senior, Hui Jia, double bass senior, Shi Hui, , and other PHSCO seniors came. i am not discriminating or anything, it is just that i am closer to them than my primary school mates.

the national day school assemby dragged on all the way until 5.30pm, when the carnival was supposed to start at 4!!! a lot of us students were fidgeting restlessly, itching to go to our booths, by that time. it was maddening!!! Carine and i found interest in looking at the UG people squat down, though, and counting them. they were near fainting. i pity them, don't say i am gloating, but it was interesing, from the spectators' point of view! we saw people abseiling down from the third floor, too. quite interesting, but i wondered, why did they not just climb down the stairs???

the carnival was in full swing by 5.30pm, when the harried students were finally released (actually, we escaped) from assembly. Dao Han and i went around selling lollipops and badges. the lollipops were sold out; the badges were not much welcome. even Mrs Janice Lim came to patron our stall!!! woah heart attack!!! Dao Han took two lollipops to sell at 6pm, and promised to sell them by 6.30pm, as out shift ended then. he suceeded, and even sold another one! wonder what their reactions were? while he was selling at the guzheng stall Elaine told me to buy candy floss. i told her i would buy later, but she said "now!" and widened her eyes. hahas the twins are cute! i can say i like them and i had every intention of supporting the guzheng stall, anyway, so i bought one and gave it to my friends to enjoy.

the CO booths sold accssories, lollipops and windchimes at one booth (outside C1-11) and doughnuts at another (canteen). the doughnuts were a roaring success, but as to the other booth, i am not so sure (oops sheepish i was too busy manning the taekwondo stall to go check, sorry!!!). i bought one windchime for Hui Jia (they were quite nice) and did not give the others anything as i could not find Shi Ling and i was not very close to the others. as to Chris...well...hahas too bad!

wow the booths selling drinks were a roaring success!!! they sold out long before any other booths did. many thirsty students could not find water by around as early as 7.30pm!!! i think the bubble tea stall was the most popular (stall selling edibles) by far, judging by how many people held cups of bubble tea and how early they sold out. the ice creams and ice kachang were also quite popular. i have to say sorry, though, to Abigail for not patroning her stall.

we saw the children of a lot of the teachers, and Mrs Lim's sons came to the taekwondo stall and we played with them. they are so cute!!! i cannot, in good conscience, say that our taekwondo stall was a success, though. i vote that we sell drinks next time, if there is any chance of the school organizing a carnival next year.

the day passed very quickly, but we were all tired by the time the final attendance taking was done. we were all glad to go home, though somewhat unwilling to close down the carnival (we wanted to play!!!). no one missed manning the stalls much, though, i think! hope that there will be another carnival next year!!!
wow

wah now that think of it, this year has passed really quickly, huh? maybe perhaps because a lot of events happened this year-Adventure Camp and Taman Negara Camp and a lot of other things, but now that i come to think of it, 7 months has really flew by at a very high speed. this year, we all have many new friends (enemies?) and new history to our name. i hope i have improved, too.

well today is the term 3 common test english and mathematics paper. wonder why i am blogging instead of studying, which is what i should be doing. maybe i can argue that today's english common test is on paper 1, and thus i am studying, by writing a "compo", but that's no excuse, i know. hahas i have become lamer, and i know that i am crazier this year (thanks to DaoHan, who 'enlightened' me to that fact) but i hope my end-of-year results do not slip so much!!! and best of luck everyone for common test!!!

whew guess i am just excited about the Taiwan trip in November, because i just can't seem to settle down. this is my first year going overseas with my friends! (unless Taman Negara counts...) and i am downright excited. i think i should be allowed to, huh, since it's practically a once in a lifetime chance with that particular friend... those who cannot go, i am sorry, and will take note not to talk too much about it, to those who do not want to go i will do the same thing, and those who are going, cheers! let us enjoy those 7 days in Taiwan!!! wow this year i get to pon CO for 3 times!!! i have not missed CO since i joined, January 2005 (except for MOE Camp lar, and i do not think that that should be counted as the CO sent me there, yet i unfairly got an absent mark last year for that stupid reason), and this year, year 2007, i am looking at pon-ning 3 times (plus once for the Syno Buddy Camp, another thing i am anticipating). can't say i am extremely happy or what (i do not feel that skipping CCAs-or anything, for that matter-is what i should do) but those are all perfectly credible reasons why i cannot go, and after all, the Syno Camp is in school, so i'll still be in school! hahas...

oh well got to go now... hope my next post won't be months later!!! cheers!
music

music rocks my world. seriously it does. i would die if music died out. i can't live without music. wonder how i ever lived the first 10 years of my life without music. hahas okay that was emo...

i play the cello and i love the instrument. with it's sombre and rich voice (i love sad music, btw, and it's one of the best instruments for the job) it is not really all that famous (a lot of people mistake it for a guitar!!!) but it is quite popular in the music world. it can be found both in western and eastern music, along with only two other instruments: the double bass and percussion. even though i am only at a miserable grade five standard, i have gotten to really appreciate the cello. i am now frantically saving up to buy a second cello, which will hopefully bring me to greater heights.

the cello is not the only instrument i play, though. i also play the guzheng. it is an eastern instrument, and is described to produce the sound of flowing water when played. it is a very nice instrument, and i love it. as yet, i am not sure i love it as much as i love the cello, as my guzheng skills are not very good, but i will never give up learning the guzheng. i will persevere, and build up my guzheng skills.

i have devoted a lot of time to music since i joined Evergreen Primary School, and have not regretted a bit of it since. i hope my brother will join Chinese Orchestra, too. he is showing some interest in joining already.
thoughts

hi. supposed to be doing FPS *grimace* but... well... hey, it's not everyday that u get to blog in your school's computer lab right???

pertaining thoughts, i feel that people should not keep all their thoughts to themselves. apart from the alleged saying--your brain would explode if you keep too much thoughts to yourself--, it does not allow people to get to know you, to understand you. and keeping dark thoughts to yourself will have negative impacts too, like depression, suicidal thoughts, etc...

if you insist on keeping to yourself, please do not blame people if they ignore you, or do not talk to you. especially if you act pissed off. it may not be that they do not want to talk to you, but instead they do not dare to talk to you. there is a big difference, you know.

telling people about your thoughts can maybe make that confidante improve, too. like if you are not happy about that person's actions, tell him/her, instead of getting angry at him/her, or worse, telling another person about it. if you do not dare to be so direct, write it down or say it via msn. letting friendships soil due to opinions kept to oneself is not worth it.

i do not mind if people are frank and tell me if something about me pisses them off, but please, don't be too straightforward. don't bruise my feelings, or make me angry by the bluntness. thank you.

try telling your friends your thoughts. maybe you will profit from it...
woots~~

yay i finally can use the computer!!! hahas u might be thinking "who doesn't get to use the com nowadays?" but for me, being able to use the com is a rare thing...

wahhx... don't feel like studying Geography... even though there is test tomorrow...

what makes a person choose the things he or she does? like if a person likes this shirt but it totally does NOT suit him/her, why does that person still buy it? maybe if that person has good friends who would not comment about it-care about that person's feelings- but still... oh, well, i guess everyone thinks things differently...

oh, man, i miss my MOE CO Camp 2007 friends!!! i know, i know, that was like quite 'long' ago already (21st June) but i still miss them. friendships run deep. they were a bunch of the funniest, most fun, most easy-going, most out-going and the most tolerant people i have ever known. hahas. my pals at PHS and EPS are not bad too, but, well, time reveals the bad side of things, while i have only known my camp friends for only approximately 4 days. oh, Chloe, Nicole, Hye Ri, Chris, Han Qi, Kar Hui, Zheng Wei, Hubert, i miss you guys (and gals)!!! Keep in touch!!!

i have decided that i must seriously ponder and deliberate--for a long time--before delving into a relationship. even a casual one needs careful thinking and real understanding of the other party's behaviour. recently i have been deeply disappoined by one particular person(urh-hmm)'s actions, and that person has seriously made me wonder (and regret) why i made the decision i did in the first place. some people will know what i am talking about, that thing that started before Mid-year Examinations. it has made me afraid, seriously afraid, of getting into new relationships. that particular person's behaviour has made me reflect a lot these past few days, and now i am seriously considering breaking off this...thing. but i do not dare to voice it out, finalize it. oh, i hope this matter gets resolved quickly!!!

i do not care anymore. i do not want to care anymore. maybe i should burrow myself in studying for tomorrow's Geography test. oh, well, good luck to all from 3Faith for your Geography and Mathematics tests!!!
