carnival!!!

wow 8th August's carnival. it was very fun, man! although it was quite hectic, and it was very dificult to get from one booth to the other, but yuppx, all in all, it was very fun! i wish the police had not been there, though. spoilt the mood quite a bit.

Kai Sing and Jazz and Chang Jing, my primary school fellow CO members (Secondary Ones now) were there, though i have no idea how they came to know of the carnival. i was pleased that they came, though. it was nice to see familiar faces. the nicer part was when my MOE Camp 2007 fellow cellist, Chris, cello senior, Shi Ling, erhu senior, Hui Jia, double bass senior, Shi Hui, , and other PHSCO seniors came. i am not discriminating or anything, it is just that i am closer to them than my primary school mates.

the national day school assemby dragged on all the way until 5.30pm, when the carnival was supposed to start at 4!!! a lot of us students were fidgeting restlessly, itching to go to our booths, by that time. it was maddening!!! Carine and i found interest in looking at the UG people squat down, though, and counting them. they were near fainting. i pity them, don't say i am gloating, but it was interesing, from the spectators' point of view! we saw people abseiling down from the third floor, too. quite interesting, but i wondered, why did they not just climb down the stairs???

the carnival was in full swing by 5.30pm, when the harried students were finally released (actually, we escaped) from assembly. Dao Han and i went around selling lollipops and badges. the lollipops were sold out; the badges were not much welcome. even Mrs Janice Lim came to patron our stall!!! woah heart attack!!! Dao Han took two lollipops to sell at 6pm, and promised to sell them by 6.30pm, as out shift ended then. he suceeded, and even sold another one! wonder what their reactions were? while he was selling at the guzheng stall Elaine told me to buy candy floss. i told her i would buy later, but she said "now!" and widened her eyes. hahas the twins are cute! i can say i like them and i had every intention of supporting the guzheng stall, anyway, so i bought one and gave it to my friends to enjoy.

the CO booths sold accssories, lollipops and windchimes at one booth (outside C1-11) and doughnuts at another (canteen). the doughnuts were a roaring success, but as to the other booth, i am not so sure (oops sheepish i was too busy manning the taekwondo stall to go check, sorry!!!). i bought one windchime for Hui Jia (they were quite nice) and did not give the others anything as i could not find Shi Ling and i was not very close to the others. as to Chris...well...hahas too bad!

wow the booths selling drinks were a roaring success!!! they sold out long before any other booths did. many thirsty students could not find water by around as early as 7.30pm!!! i think the bubble tea stall was the most popular (stall selling edibles) by far, judging by how many people held cups of bubble tea and how early they sold out. the ice creams and ice kachang were also quite popular. i have to say sorry, though, to Abigail for not patroning her stall.

we saw the children of a lot of the teachers, and Mrs Lim's sons came to the taekwondo stall and we played with them. they are so cute!!! i cannot, in good conscience, say that our taekwondo stall was a success, though. i vote that we sell drinks next time, if there is any chance of the school organizing a carnival next year.

the day passed very quickly, but we were all tired by the time the final attendance taking was done. we were all glad to go home, though somewhat unwilling to close down the carnival (we wanted to play!!!). no one missed manning the stalls much, though, i think! hope that there will be another carnival next year!!!
